Managing Music Teaching Activities at Primary Schools in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City According to the 2018 General Education Program

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore and identify the contents of music teaching management in primary schools in Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City according to the 2018 General Education Program. This study uses qualitative and quantitative research methods to achieve this purpose. Based on the analysis of theoretical issues, this study conducted a survey of 90 people, including 30 managers, the remaining 60 were professional group leaders, some homeroom teachers who had concurrently taught music and specialized music teachers of 9 primary schools in Binh Thanh district. The survey results show that the management of music teaching activities in primary schools in Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City according to the 2018 General Education Program still has many shortcomings in terms of objectives, content, methods, testing and evaluation, and conditions for teaching activities. Based on the analysis and assessment of the current situation, this study proposes solutions to contribute to improving the quality of music teaching, innovating in the direction of promoting students’ positivity and bringing high efficiency in teaching towards promoting the capacity and qualities of primary school students.
