This study examined the influence of employees' ambidexterity on the performance of commercial banks in Nigeria. Specifically, the study investigated the influence of employees' exploratory behaviours and employees' exploitative behaviours on the performance of commercial banks. A cross-sectional survey research design was adopted for the study. Data was collected from 183 employees of selected commercial banks in Nigeria using a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis were employed to analyse the data. The results showed that employees' exploratory behaviours and employees' exploitative behaviours has a significant positive influence on commercial-bank performance. It was concluded that employees' ambidexterity is an important determinant of commercial-bank performance in Nigeria. It was recommended that management of the studied commercial banks should promote an organisational environment that simultaneously encourages innovation, experimentation and knowledge acquisition while improving the effective utilisation of existing knowledge, technologies and work processes.
